Instructions

STEP 1

Using a foam brush, paint the wrong (brown) side of a cardboard circle. Let dry.

STEP 2

Glue a large star in the very center of the shield. Add glitter foam stickers and other shapes to decorate around the star. If desired, glue gems onto the star shapes or to the shield itself.

STEP 3

Make a superhero sound word by sticking glitter foam letters onto the large star.  Here are some examples:  POW, BAM, ZAP, BANG, WHAM, CRASH.

STEP 4

An adult can help to make the handle on the back of the shield. Cut a 6" piece of Duck Tape® and fold it in half lengthwise, sticky sides together, so that you have a strip that is 1" wide and 6" long.

STEP 5

Cut 2 more squares of Duck Tape®, each about 2" x 2".

STEP 6

Place the narrow strip of Duck Tape® in the center of the shield.  Make sure the ends are about 4" apart, so that the tape bends outward. This will allow room for the superhero’s hand to fit inside the handle.

STEP 7

Use the squares of Duck Tape® to secure each side of the handle to the back of the shield.
