Instructions

STEP 1

Clean your rocks with soap and water. This will remove any dirt, debris or smudges that might keep the paint from adhering properly.

STEP 2

Use the slate gray rocks as tombstones. Write messages on the tombstones with a Sharpie® marker and draw jagged lines to make it look as if the stones have cracks. Let dry.

STEP 3

Paint characters on the black river rocks, such as ghosts, skeletons and bats. Use the smaller white river rocks to paint pumpkins or jack-o-lanterns. Set aside to dry.

STEP 4

While the painted rocks are drying, use a foam brush to paint the inside of the diorama pumpkin in Plum. Also, paint the edge of the hole in the pumpkin with Plum. Let dry.

STEP 5

Cover the edge of the diorama pumpkin opening only with decoupage and sprinkle Muse glitter while decoupage is wet.

TIP: Fold a piece of cardstock in half to create a crease, and unfold. Place the cardstock under the pumpkin to catch excess glitter, and recycle it for re-use. Pour excess glitter from the creased cardstock back into the glitter container.

STEP 6

Cut the Styrofoam® discs in half. Insert two halves into the pumpkin and place them together to make a circle. Insert another half, and place it on top of the back half of the circle, at the back of the pumpkin. The final half piece will not be used.

STEP 7

Cover the discs with moss.

STEP 8

To support taller or heavier rocks, use craft sticks as stakes in the Styrofoam® discs. Cut the bottom end of each stick diagonally with wire cutters to create a point. Hot glue the sticks to the backs of the rocks and allow to dry.

STEP 9

Plan your scene and insert the rocks as desired. Simply press down to insert the craft sticks into the Styrofoam®, so the rocks will stand.

STEP 10

Place pumpkin painted rocks anywhere in your graveyard.
