Instructions

STEP 1

Project Note: A hot glue gun makes this project especially easy and fast. However, only an adult should use this tool.

Place seven jumbo craft sticks in a row, long sides together.

STEP 2

ADULT: Make three lines of hot glue across the jumbo craft sticks and press a regular-sized craft stick onto each row, so that the craft sticks are adhered together as a solid rectangle. Let dry for a moment.

STEP 3

For the pumpkin, use a foam brush to cover the craft sticks with Pure Pumpkin paint. Let dry, and add a second coat, if desired.

STEP 4

Attach wiggle eyes with glue and let dry.

STEP 5

With a paint pen, add eyebrows or eyelashes.

STEP 6

Cut a nose and mouth out of black sticky-back foam, remove the backing, and place them onto your pumpkin face.

STEP 7

ADULT: If desired, wrap two green chenille stems together, fold them in half and hot glue the folded end underneath the top of the pumpkin head to make a stem. Twist the chenille stems around pencils to curl them.

STEP 8

For the scarecrow, use a foam brush to paint the top of the craft sticks with Pure Pumpkin paint. This orange section will become the crown of the scarecrow’s hat; use the image as a guide.

STEP 9

To make the hat’s brim, paint one additional jumbo craft stick with the same color and let dry.

STEP 10

Cut several 5"-6" strands of yarn and glue them to the underside of this orange craft stick to make hair. Glue this orange craft stick horizontally to the craft sticks at the bottom of the orange-painted section. Style the scarecrow’s hair, if desired.

STEP 11

Cut a nose out of sticky-back foam and stick it onto the craft stick face.

STEP 12

With a paint pen, paint on a stitched mouth.

STEP 13

Add a foam flower sticker or two to your scarecrow’s hat.

STEP 14

For the franken-monster, use a foam brush to cover the craft sticks with Apple Tart paint. Let dry, and add a second coat, if desired.

STEP 15

Place the craft stick rectangle onto a piece of black sticky-back foam and trace around it to outline the monster’s hair. Trace a jagged hairline and cut out the hair piece, then stick it onto the top of your franken-monster’s head.

STEP 16

With a paint pen, add eyebrows, nose, mouth and scars or other details.
